The Basics

Where are you located?

The Sand Dunes overlooks the beautiful Atlantic Ocean at 133 Fort Fisher Boulevard South in Kure Beach, NC.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in begins at 4:00 pm. Checkout time is 11:00 am.

How does contactless check-in work?

We will text you at 11AM the morning of your stay with reservation information. Your door code will be sent via text at 3:45 that afternoon so you can go straight to your room upon arrival. There is no need to check-in with a "Front Desk." Every room has a Yale Smart Lock so your door code is pre programmed to start working at 4 pm day of check-in. If you need anything during your stay at The Sand Dunes, message our team by replying to your original check-in texts. We look forward to meeting you, "sea" you soon!

Are you ADA compliant?

Due to the historic nature of our property, our hotel may require the use of stairs and may not offer certain accessibility features of newer buildings.

For guests in search of accessible accommodations at The Sand Dunes, we welcome you to contact The Sand Dunes directly and speak with a team member for assistance in placing a reservation with us.

Do you offer parking?

Yes! We're pleased to offer one complimentary, onsite parking space per room. One parking pass will be provided per room, and this will need to be placed in your vehicle so you are not towed. If you wish to bring more than one vehicle, you will need to park your second vehicle in the paid public lot located next door.


Why is the rooms page showing me no available rooms for my selected date(s)?

Two or more night reservations may be required during some periods. This may cause our availability calendar to show “No Availability” if you're looking for shorter stays. If you're interested in a one-night stay, please call us directly.

Do you offer breakfast?

We do not currently offer breakfast, but many of our rooms feature fully equipped kitchens for whipping up something delicious! We're also happy to recommend some of our favorite breakfast spots nearby.

What is there to do in the area?

Do you offer WiFi?

Yes! We're happy to offer free high-speed WiFi throughout the property. You'll receive information about logging on at check-in.


Are you pet-friendly?

We welcome service animals and well-behaved dogs with a pet fee.
